Cost of food


For many years Konya was known as the cereal warehouse of Turkey. The reality is that Konya is still the agricultural motor of Turkey. This reality without a doubt affects the prices of bread, and cereal related food products. The open bazaars is always an option for the grocery bargain hunter. Modern shopping malls also offer value-for-money groceries with extra isles of national and foreign food products.


Dining out in Konya is relatively cheaper when comparing with Ankara and Istanbul. Compared to EU countries the prices are incredibly cheaper. A fair meal at the most luxurious Restaurants in Konya will only cause a damage of 40 TL (22€ aprox) for 2. Basically for those who have always wanted to lose their selves on the dinner table without worrying about the fee can come to Konya. Or if you want to munch on a quick doner kebab with a coke you will need to carry 2.5 TL (1.5 €).
