Agriculture

Once known as the grain warehouse of Turkey, the city of Konya now boasts a developed and dynamic industrial base with a large manufacturing sector ranging from foodstuffs to textiles and the production of car parts and heavy industrial machinery. Konyan businesses have shifted their focus. Ten years ago factories here produced for domestic, Middle Eastern and African markets. Now Konya exports almost exclusively to Europe. The city has gone through an industrial boom in the past 10 years, and the increased prosperity has attracted a scattering of immigrants.


This transformation to an industrial city does not mean that Konya isn't offering its past agricultural superiority. On the contrary Konya is also developing its agricultural production capacity with investments in fertilizers, pesticides and irrigated land (including the watering Project still continuing. the local production of agricultural machinery means that you do not need to go very far to produce at the top of your capacity.
